The Process

How It Works

LENS neurofeedback is unlike anything else in clinical practice. No effort required. No screens to watch. Just your brain, resetting itself.

01

Initial Consultation

We start with a thorough intake to understand your history, symptoms, and goals. Dr. McVeigh reviews your case and maps out a personalized LENS protocol.

02

Brain Mapping

Sensors are placed on your scalp to measure your brainwave activity. This EEG map guides the LENS protocol — no two brains are the same.

03

LENS Session

You sit comfortably while tiny electromagnetic feedback signals are delivered to your scalp. Sessions last 15–30 minutes. Most people feel nothing — or a subtle calm.

04

Track & Adjust

Dr. McVeigh reviews your response after each session and adjusts the protocol. Most clients notice changes within the first 1–3 sessions.

Two modalities. One powerful combination.

LENS Neurofeedback

LENS uses a tiny electromagnetic signal — far weaker than a cell phone — to interrupt stuck brainwave patterns. The brain responds by reorganizing toward more flexible, regulated activity.

  • No screens, no effort, no concentration required
  • Sessions 15–30 minutes
  • 30+ years of clinical research
  • Effective for TBI, PTSD, anxiety, fatigue, POTS, and more

Celluma Elite Red Light Therapy

Celluma Elite delivers red and near-infrared light to support mitochondrial function, reduce neuroinflammation, and accelerate cellular repair. Sessions run up to 30 minutes and are particularly effective for brain fog and neurocognitive rehabilitation.

  • FDA-cleared device
  • Sessions up to 30 minutes
  • Targets brain fog and neurocognitive rehabilitation
  • Reduces neuroinflammation and oxidative stress
  • Pairs naturally with LENS for whole-system recovery

Frequently asked questions

What is LENS neurofeedback?

LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) is a form of neurofeedback that uses very low-power electromagnetic signals to interrupt stuck brainwave patterns. Unlike traditional neurofeedback, LENS requires no active participation — you simply sit still while the system works.

Is it safe?

Yes. LENS has been used clinically for over 30 years. The signals used are far weaker than a cell phone. Side effects are rare and typically mild (temporary fatigue or vivid dreams after the first session).

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients see meaningful changes within 6–10 sessions. Some conditions respond faster. Dr. McVeigh will give you a realistic estimate after your intake.

What is Celluma Elite red light therapy?

Celluma Elite is a professional multi-panel LED device on a rolling stand that delivers three wavelengths: blue (465nm), red (640nm), and near-infrared (880nm). Each session lasts up to 25 minutes. At the cellular level, red and near-infrared wavelengths drive mitochondrial ATP production and promote EZ (structured) water formation within cells — foundational to tissue repair, inflammation reduction, and nervous system recovery. Blue light operates at a shallower depth and has additional cellular effects depending on the treatment mode selected. The Celluma ELITE pairs naturally with LENS by addressing the physiological side of dysregulation while the brain resets.

What is the iRestore Apex 1500?

The iRestore Apex 1500 is a professional-grade full-body LED panel on an adjustable stand positioned over the treatment table. It delivers red and near-infrared wavelengths across a large surface area — designed for whole-body photobiomodulation rather than targeted spot treatment. This makes it ideal for driving systemic mitochondrial ATP production, supporting EZ (structured) water formation throughout the body, reducing broad-area inflammation, and promoting tissue and nerve repair. Sessions run up to 25 minutes while you rest, and it pairs directly with LENS neurofeedback in our flagship combined sessions.

Do you accept insurance?

Blue Brain Bar is cash-based for private and commercial insurance. We do not bill private insurance directly. We bill OHP CareOregon directly for LENS neurofeedback — patients must have an established primary care provider, but a referral or order is not required. Superbills may be available upon request to support out-of-network reimbursement or FSA/HSA claims.

Where are you located?

We are located inside Sunnyside Collaborative Care at 16144 SE Happy Valley Town Center Dr #214, Happy Valley, OR 97086. LENS neurofeedback and red light therapy are available Monday through Friday. Mind Spa aesthetic services are available by appointment only — please submit the inquiry form to request scheduling.

Peer-Reviewed Evidence

Grounded in published research.

Every modality offered at Blue Brain Bar has a peer-reviewed evidence base. These are not experimental treatments — they are clinically studied interventions with documented outcomes.
